Ingredients
- 2 lbs rump or fillet steak
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 2 oz butter
- Freshly ground pepper sea salt, nutmeg and mace
- 300 mls sour cream
- 8 ozs button mushroom caps sliced

Instructions
- Slice steak into ½ inch strips
- Sauté onion in half the butter till just coloured
- Add sliced beef and sauté for 2-3 minutes till brown on all sides. Remove from pan
- Add remaining butter to pan and sauté sliced mushrooms
- Return steak to the pan and season to taste.
- Add sour cream and heat through.
Recipe Notes
2 tbsp of green peppercorns can be substituted for the mushrooms. Both delicious.
Serve with plain rice and a green salad
