Ingredients
- 450 G Bramley cooking apples peeled, cored and sliced
- 50 G soft brown sugar
- 4 ozs ground almonds
- 4 ozs butter at room temperature
- 2 large beaten eggs beaten
- 4 ozs golden caster sugar

Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees
- Place apples and brown sugar+ 2 tbsps water in a pan and simmer gently until soft and mushy
- Arrange apple in the bottom of an ovenproof dish, approx. 8” round and 2” deep
- Cream butter and caster sugar until pale and fluffy; then add the eggs a little at a time.
- Lightly fold in the ground almonds and spread mix over the cooked apple evening out the surface
- Bake on a higher shelf for 60 minutes.
- Serve warm or cold, with cream or custard.

Once cooled it will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days
