Bramley cooking apples
peeled, cored and sliced

soft brown sugar

ground almonds

butter
at room temperature

beaten eggs
beaten

ozs
golden caster sugar
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees
Place apples and brown sugar+ 2 tbsps water in a pan and simmer gently until soft and mushy
Arrange apple in the bottom of an ovenproof dish, approx. 8” round and 2” deep
Cream butter and caster sugar until pale and fluffy; then add the eggs a little at a time.
Lightly fold in the ground almonds and spread mix over the cooked apple evening out the surface
Bake on a higher shelf for 60 minutes.
Serve warm or cold, with cream or custard.

Once cooled it will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days
